A RESOLUTION APPROVING RATE ADJUSTMENTS FOR
THE GREEN VALLEY DISPOSAL COMPANY
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos has contracted with the Green Valley
Disposal Company for the collection of garbage and rubbish
in Town, pursuant to Section 14 -2 of the Town Code. and
WHEREAS, Section 14 -5 of the Town Code provides that the Town Council
shall determine from time to time the charges to be made to
Town residents for the collection of garbage and rubbish; and
WHEREAS, Green Valley Disposal Company has requested that the Town Council
approve a rate adjustment for their charges for garbage and refuse
collection services in the Town of Los Gatos; and
WHEREAS, Council has held a public hearing and has found the recommended
rates to be warranted and necessary for the Company to maintain
efficient and effective operations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos
hereby grants rate adjustments for residential and commercial customers as
shown in the attached Exhibit A, to become effective on March 1, 1984; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution will become invalid should
refuse collection services be provided to the cities of Saratoga, Campbell,
and /or Monte Sereno for a rate less than that necessary to generate their
respective revenue required for the 1984 -85 fiscal year, as detailed in
Exhibit B. Should service option modifications be proposed in lieu of a
portion of the required rate increase, the corresponding revenue reduction
must be authorized by the four - jurisdiction Rate Review Committee prior to
approval. Should this rate become effective subsequent to March 1, 1984,
in any of the above - mentioned jurisdictions, additional revenues must be
generated by that jurisdiction to offset any losses incurred during the
interim period.

at a regular meeting held this 19th day of
March , 1984, by the following vote:

Carlson, and Mayor Thomas J. Ferrito
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS Terrence J. Daily and
Brent N. Ventura
