A RESOLUTION APPROVING GRANT APPLICATION FOR FUNDS
UNDER PROVISIONS OF THE PARK RESTORATION AND URBAN
REFORESTATION PROGRAM. AUTHORIZES THE TOWN TO
CONTRACT WITH ABLE TREE SURGEONS FOR COMPLETION OF
CONTRACT WORK AND GIVES THE TOWN MANAGER AUTHORITY TO
SIGN APPROPRIATE CONTRACTS ON BEHALF OF THE TOWN OF
LOS GATOS.
WHEREAS, the State of California Department of Forestry has agreed to
participate with the Town of Los Gatos in approving grant
monies in the amount of $30,000 for tree planting, pruning,
and
removal projects within the Town; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Forestry requires the applicant
to certify by resolution the approval of applications prior
to submission of said applications to the State; and
WHEREAS, the program applied for under this grant must be of a high
priority and satisfy urgent environmental needs within the
Town of Los Gatos;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town of Los
Gatos
does hereby;
1. Approve the filing of an application for grant funding under the
Park
Restoration and Urban Reforestation Program, and
2. Certify that the Town of Los Gatos understands the general provisions
of the agreement, and
3. Authorize David Mora, Town Manager, to have signature authority,
for this
contract, and
4. Authorize David Mora, Town Manager, to have signature authority,
and to
come into an agreement with Able Tree Surgeons who will complete
the
work as described under the grant application.

at a regular meeting held on the 18th day of July 1983
by the following vote:
