A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO VACATE EXCESS PORTION OF A
PUBLIC THOROUGHFARE (275 SARATOGA AVENUE) FOR PUBLIC ROAD PURPOSES
RESOLVED:
1. It is the intention of the Town Council to vacate, under the provisions of
Division 9, Part 3 (Sections 8300 through 8331) of the Streets and Highways Code, a
public road right -of -way situated in the Town of Los Gatos, County of Santa Clara,
State of California, consisting of a strip of land containing approximately 100
square feet located at the southeast corner of Saratoga Avenue and Massol Avenue,
and more particularly described in Exhibit "A" (Description of Excess Portion of a
Public Thoroughfare to be Abandoned [275 Saratoga Avenue] by the Town of Los Gatos),
and Exhibit "B" (Plat to Accompany Description of Public Thoroughfare Abandonment),
copies of which are attached hereto. Said Exhibits show the particulars as to the
proposed abandonment, and are available for public inspection in the Office of the
Town Clerk of the Town of Los Gatos, Civic Center, 110 East Main Street, Los Gatos,
California.
2. On August 75, 1983, in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center, 110 East
Main Street, Los Gatos, California, the Town Council will hold a public hearing to
consider whether or not the easement is necessary for present or prospective public
use. The meeting will begin at 7:30 P.M. All persons interested are invited to at-
tend and be heard.
3. The Town Clerk is authorized, and is hereby directed to publish a copy of
this resolution in the Los Gatos Times, a newspaper of general circulation, publish-
ed and circulated in the Town of Los Gatos, within fifteen (15) days after the date
of its adoption.
4. The Mayor of the Town of Los Gatos is authorized, and is hereby directed to
execute that document entitled, "Notice of Abandonment of Excess Portion of a Public
Thoroughfare ", a copy of which is attached hereto, and the Director of Public Works
is authorized, and is hereby directed to conspicuously post three (3) copies of said
Notice, not more than 300 feet apart, on at least ten (10) days before the date of
the public hearing above designated,

Gatos held on the 18th day of July, 1983 by the following vote:

THOROUGHFARE TO BE ABANDONED (275 SARATOGA AVENUE)
BY THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
All that certain parcel of land situated in the Town of Los Gatos, County of Santa
Clara, State of-California, described as follows:
A portion of Lots 7, 8 and 9 in Block 3 as said lots and block are shown
upon that certain map entitled "Map of the Massol Subdivision" filed for
record December 29, 1892 in Book G of Maps at Page 35, Santa Clara County
Records.
Beginning at the most northerly corner of said Lot 7 at the point of inter-
section of the southeasterly line of Massol Avenue (66 feet wide) with the
southwesterly line of Saratoga Avenue (70 feet wide) as shown on said map;
thence from said point of beginning along said southeasterly line of Massol
Avenue, South 370 28' West 76.00 feet; thence parallel with said
southwesterly line of Saratoga Avenue, South 520 32' East 7.00 feet to a
point on a line drawn parallel with and distant 7.00 feet southeasterly
measured at right angles from said southeasterly line of Massol Avenue;
thence along said parallel line, North 37° 28' East 16.00 feet to the true
point of beginning; thence leaving said parallel line along a tangent curve
to the right with a radius of 30.00 feet, through a central angle of 39°
59' 6011, an arc distance of 47.12 feet, to a point on a line parallel with
and distant 30.000 feet southwesterly measured at right angles from said
southwesterly line of Saratoga Avenue; thence along said parallel line
North 520 32' West, 10.00 feet; thence along a tangent curve to the left
with a radius of 20.00 feet; through a central angle of 39° 59' 60 ", an arc
distance of 31.42 feet, to a point on said southeasterly line of Massol
Avenue; thence South 370 28' West, 10.00 feet to the true point of
beginning.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on July 13, 1983, the Town Council of the town
of Los Gatos, County of Santa Clara, State of California, adopted Resolution
No. 1983 -139 entitled, "A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO VACATE AN EXCESS PORTION
OF A PUBLIC THOROUGHFARE (275 SARATOGA AVENUE) FOR PUBLIC ROAD PURPOSES ", lo-
cated at the southeast corner of Saratoga Avenue and Massol Avenue. A copy of
said Resolution No. 198 -139, and a map entitled, "PLAT TO ACCOMPANY DESCRIP-
TION OF PUBLIC THROUGHFARE ABANDONMENT ", showing the particulars as to the pro-
posed vacation are on file in the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Los
Gatos, Civic Center, 110 East Main Street, Los Gatos, California, and are a-
vailable for inspection during regular business hours.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that on august 15, 1983 in the Council Chambers of
the Civic Center, 110 East Main Street, Los Gatos, California, the Town Council
will hold a public hearing on the question of whether or not the easement is
necessary for present or prospective public use. The Council meeting will be-
gin at 7030 P.M. All persons interested are invited to attend and be heard.
