A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING FRIENDS OF THE LOS
GATOS MEMORIAL LIBRARY DAY
WHEREAS, The Friends of the Los Gatos Memorial Library group was formed to
maintain an association of persons interested in books and in good
library services; and
WHEREAS, the group wishes to focus public attention on the valuable work of
the Los Gatos Memorial Library, its services to the community, and
the joy of knowledge which it brings to all; and
WHEREAS, The Friends of the Los Gatos Memorial Library strive to make the
work of said Library more visible to the community by giving infor-
mation on the services available; and
WHEREAS, used book sales are held twice a year to help to secure materials
beyond the ordinary Library budget; and
WHEREAS, proceeds of past sales have helped to secure a microfiche unit and
several works of art;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos,
California, that Saturday, May 21, 1983, be designated as Friends of the Los
Gatos Memorial Library Day; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that members of the community be encouraged to actively
participate in those activities which serve to make Los Gatos Memorial Library
Day successful in an effort to promote an increased interest in books and other
library services available to all Town residents.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos, California, at
a regular meeting held this 2nd day of May 1983,
by the following vote:
