1983-056-Concerning Amendments To The Land Use Element And Housing Element Of The General PlanRESOLUTION NO. 1953 -56 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS CONCERNING AMENDMENTS TO THE LAND USE ELEMENT AND HOUSING ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN WHEREAS, under Government Code Section 65355, the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos conducted a public hearing for consideration of amendments to the General Plan on March 21, 1983, and WHEREAS, during this hearing the Town Council considered all of the items shown in Resolution No. 83 -3 of the Planning Commission. RESOLVED: The Town Council adopts the following amendment which would follow Subsection E of the Housing Element which begins on Page 14: Add new Subsection F: Housing for the Handicapped Problem: Handicapped persons have special design requirements in terms of meeting their housing needs. These requirements include accessability, space for wheelchairs to maneuver, locations of fixtures, and emergency exit needs. While the Town has not yet been able to identify the numbers or specific types of needs to be addressed, it has recognized the need to begin providing for such housing units at this time. Objective: Meet the needs of housing for handicapped residents of the Town. Policy 14: Housing restricted for occupancy by handicapped persons will be eligible for a density bonus equal to 100 percent of the number of units permitted by the underlying zone. FURTHER RESOLVED: The Town Council finds that the amendment will not have a significant impact on the environment, and makes the Negative Declaration. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos at a regular meeting held this 21st day of March 1953, by the following vote: AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS Joanne Ben'amin, Terrence J.
