1983-036-Authorizing The Mayor To Execute Application To Office Of Telecommunications For Grant AidRESOLUTION NO. 1983 -36
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE APPLICATION TO OFFICE OF
TELECOMMUNICATIONS FOR GRANT AID.
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos has recently entered
into a new Franchise Agreement for cable television service to
Town residents; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has adopted a revised cable television ordinance;
and
WHEREAS, the Town Council desires to promote local origination and public
and /or community access via cable television;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign
any and all documents pertaining to a formal application to the
Federal Government's Office of Telecommunications for a grant to
support local origination and community access activities; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is the intent of the Town Council to pursue
the establishment of a nonprofit corporation for management of
local and community access activities, said corporation to be
representative of the Town, the local High School District, and
the community at large.

at a regular meeting held this 22 day of Febr
1983, by the following vote:
