RESOLUTION NO. 1982 -167
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
LOS GATOS COMMENDING POLICE LIEUTENANT O. E. "ED"
MCGOWEN FOR EXEMPLARY SERVICE TO THE TOWN.
WHEREAS, ED McGOWEN has, since September 1, 1962, served the Town of Los
Gatos as a Police Patrol Officer (1962- 1966), Police Officer -
Detective (1966- 1969); Patrol Sergeant (1969- 1970); and Police
Lieutenant (since 1970); and
WHEREAS, Ed has fulfilled the requirements of these positions faithfully
and well; and
WHEREAS, during these years he has made many friends for the Los Gatos
Police Department through participation in community affairs
and his affable personality; and
WHEREAS, this dedication to the Town of Los Gatos for a period of twenty
(20) years culminates with Ed's retirement on September 30, 1982;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
that O. E. "Ed" McGOWEN be commended for his contributions to the
Los Gatos Police Department over the past twenty years, and for his
dedicated service to the residents of the Town; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Council does hereby extend to Ed its
sincere hope that his retirement from the service of the Town of
Los Gatos is one of satisfaction and fulfillment.
