A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES FOR
PREPARATION OF RESOLUTIONS AT TOWN COUNCIL
MEETINGS.
WHEREAS, the Town Council is desirous of assuring that appropriate, concise,
and clear statements are made in various resolutions adopted by the Town Council;
and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of Council to provide specific direction to the
Town Attorney and Town staff in the drafting of resolutions; and
WHEREAS, the Council is desirous of being able to review the final text of
resolutions to assure that those resolutions are in complete compliance with the
intent of Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos
establishes as policy for the adoption of resolutions the following: specific
direction as to the content and related findings to be defined in the resolution
will be given to the Town Attorney and Town staff during a regular meeting; from
this direction, specific language will be drafted by the Attorney and staff that
is in accord with the expressed intent of Council; and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Attorney and Town staff are instructed
to prepare the applicable draft resolution for review and adoption by the Council
at the regular Council meeting immediately following the meeting at which that
resolution is requested.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos, California,
regular
at a continued/ meeting held this 9th day of September 1981, by the
following vote:
