A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMEND-
MENT TO AGREEMENT WITH GREEN
VALLEY DISPOSAL COMPANY, INC.
RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos, California,
that the Mayor is authorized and hereby directed to execute the attached
AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN TOWN OF LOS GATOS AND GREEN VALLEY DISPOSAL
COMPANY.

a regular meeting held this __ 6th day of

AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN
TOWN OF LOS GATOS AND GREEN VALLEY DISPOSAL COMPANY
WHEREAS, Chapter 14 of the Los Gatos Town Code provides for the TOWN
contracting for the collection of garbage and rubbish; and
WHEREAS, the TOWN OF LOS GATOS has entered into an agreement for such
collection with GREEN VALLEY DISPOSAL COMPANY, INC.; and
WHEREAS, the current agreement provides for expiration on June 30,
1984; and
WHEREAS, both the TOWN and GREEN VALLEY are desirous of amending the
current agreement to provide for an earlier termination date; and
WHEREAS, this action to provide an earlier termination date is
necessary so that the TOWN can begin negotiations involving itself, the
cities of Campbell, Monte Sereno, and Saratoga and GREEN VALLEY DISPOSAL
COMPANY for a master franchise agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties mutually agree that the existing agreement
between the TOWN and GREEN VALLEY DISPOSAL COMPANY for the disposal of
garbage and rubbish executed in June of 1972 is hereby amended to provide
that the final sentence in Section 2 reads as follows:
"If the TOWN does not notify GREEN VALLEY, this agreement
terminates December 31, 1982, and no notice of termination
is required."
No other amendments to the existing agreement are included in this amendment.
