A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF LOS GATOS SUPPORTING THE ENACTMENT OF
SB -1234 WHICH WOULD PROHIBIT THE AERIAL
APPLICATION OF MALATHION IN THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos has consistently
opposed the aerial application of malathion in Santa Clara
County; and
WHEREAS, the Council has received evidence of the significant detri-
mental effects of malathion; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council wishes to support the efforts of State
Senator Petris relative to the prohibition of the aerial
application of malathion;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town of
Los Gatos endorses SB -1234 as introduced by Senator Petris, inasmuch
as it would prohibit aerial application of malathion in California;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council urges its local representatives
in the State Senate and State Assembly to support SB -1234 during upcoming
hearings and final enactment as State legislation.
