RESOLUTION CONCERNING CHANGES
IN UNIFORM CODES -- HEALTH AND
SAFETY CODE SECTION 17958.7
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS RESOLVES:
Pursuant to the provison of Section 17958.7 of the
Health and Safety Code of the State of California, the Town
Council of the Town of Los Gatos has determined that the
modifications to the 1979 edition of the Uniform Building
Code and the Uniform Plumbing Code specified in this resolution
are reasonably necessary because of local conditons.
(a) The Change to Table 29a contained in Section 7.02.030
is made because the soil and geological conditions within the
Town limits and the proximity of the Town's location to the
San Andreas Fault necessitate steel reinforcing in concrete
foundations for structural safety.
(b) The changes to the Uniform Plumbing Code Section
409a contained in Section 7.04.030 are made because of Town's
location at the northwest side of Santa Cruz Mountain Range
and because of changes of elevation of sanitary sewer service
to hillside sites, to protect health and safety, by preventing
overflow of building drains and fixtures due to stoppage in
the public sewer system.
(c) The changes to the Uniform Plumbing Code Section
1008f contained in Section 7.04.035 are made to protect health
and safety because of the effect of local corrosive soils on
unprotected ferrous piping.

Town of Los Gatos held on the 17th day of Novmeber
1980, by the following vote:
