RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO VACATE A
PORTION OF LAUREL AVENUE.
RESOLVED, the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos elects to proceed
under the provisions of Division 9, Part 3 (Section 8300 through 8331) of
Streets and Highways Code, and intends to vacate a portion of Laurel
Avenue, a public street in the Town of Los Gatos, County of Santa Clara,
consisting of a strip of land approximately forty (40) feet in width,
more particularly described on Exhibit "A", attached hereto, and shown on
the map entitled, "Map Showing A Portion of Laurel Avenue To Be Vacated ",
dated April 18, 1980. The map is on file in the Office of the Town Clerk,
110 E. Main Street, Los Gatos, California, is available for public
inspection, and shows the particulars as to the proposed vacation.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the public convenience and necessity require
the reservation of easements and rights -of -way for construction, maintenance,
operation, replacement, removal, and renewal of sanitary sewers and storm
drains and appurtenant structures in, upon, over, and across Laurel Avenue,
and pursuant to any existing franchises or renewals thereof, or otherwise,
for construction, maintenance, operation, replacement, removal, renewal and
enlargements of pipe lines, conduit, cables, wires, hose, and other
convenient structures, equipment and fixtures for the operation of gas pipe
lines, telegraphic and telephone lines, and for the transportation or
distribution of electric energy, petroleum and its products, water and
incidental purposes, including access and the right to keep the property
free from inflammable materials, and wood growth, and otherwise protect the

same from all hazards in, upon and over Laurel Avenue, and proceedings are
taken subject to the reservations of such easements.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that May 19, 1980, at 7:30 P.M., in the Council
Chambers of the Civic Center, 110 East Main Street, Los Gatos, California,
is set as the time of a public hearing by the Town Council concerning this
street vacation, during which all persons interested in or objecting to
the vacation of the above described street may appear and be heard.
FINALLY RESOLVED:
1. The Town Clerk is authorized and is hereby directed to publish a
copy of this resolution in The Los Gatos Times- Saratoga Observer, a newspaper
of general circulation, published and circulated in the Town of Los Gatos,
within fifteen (15) days after the date of its adoption; and
2. The Mayor of the Town of Los Gatos is authorized and is hereby
directed to execute on behalf of the Town the instrument entitled, "Notice
of Street Vacation of a Portion of Laurel Avenue", a copy of which is
attached hereto, marked Exhibit "B 11, and the Director of Public Works is
authorized and directed to conspicuously post three (3) copies of said
"Notice of Street Vacation of a Portion of Laurel Avenue ", not more than
three hundred (300) feet apart on Laurel Avenue, at least ten (10) days
before the date of the public hearing above designated.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council
of the Town of Los Gatos held on the 21st day of April , 1984 ,

PROPOSED TO BE VACATED
All that portion of Laurel Avenue between Wissahickon
Avenue and Fairview Avenue (formerly known as Pennsylvania
Avenue) as shown on the Map of the Subdivision of Block No. 1
of Glenridge Park filed for record on August 15, 1892 in
Book G of Maps at Page 13 in the Office of the Recorder of
Santa Clara County.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on April 21, 1980, tie Town Council of
the Town of Los Gatos, County of Santa Clara, State of California, adopted
Resolution No. 1980 -48 entitled, RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO VACATE
A PORTION OF LAUREL AVENUE ". A copy of said Resolution No. 1980 -48

and a map entitled, "MAP SHOWING A PORTION OF LAUREL AVENUE TO BE VACATED ",
dated April 18, 1980, showing the particulars as to the proposed vacation,
are on file in the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Los Gatos,
Civic Center, 110 East Main Street, Los Gatos, California, and are available
for inspection during regular business hours.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that said Resolution established May 19, 1980
and the hour of 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center,
110 East Main Street, Los Gatos, California, as the date, time and place
of a public hearing by the Town Council during which all persons interested
in or objecting to the proposed vacation may appear and be heard.
