are struggling to recruit and retain teachers. In fact_ California loses 20°. of new teachers within
their first 3 years and 50°. by 5 years.

brin5 this fibure to the national average. This is why t support the idea of building aftbrdable
housing for teachers. The schools in Los Gatos also strive to recruit and retain teachers. Many of
the current teachers have long commutes because they simply carmot attotq to live in our town
where they work.
I am interested in exr.Iorinb Sarah Chaffin"s proposal to build teacher housing on Diuos Lane.
