SUBJECT: DECIDE NEXT STEPS FOR THE PARK SUMMER CONCERT SERIES HELD ON
THE LOS GATOS CIVIC CENTER LAWN EACH JUNE THROUGH AUGUST
REMARKS:
The following questions were received from Councilmembers after distribution of the staff
report; staff responses follow in italic font:
1. On page 2 of the Staff Report, 1st sentence under "Discussion," reads "...social, cultural,
and economic value that MIP brings to Los Gatos.."
Is there any data to support the assertion that MIP actually does bring economic value
to Los Gatos, or is this simply an assumption? If there is data, where can I find it, and
what is the dollar amount?
This is an assumption based on the crowd size that MIP draws, which includes both Los Gatos
residents and visitors. It is hard to measure the direct impact as some folks may patronize
businesses directly before or after the concerts, while others may discover new places in Los
Gatos and then return to Town on another day to visit.
