1991-153-Establishing Compensation And Benefits For Confidential Employees Effective June 23, 1991 Through June 30, 1992RESOLUTION NO. 1991 -153 RESOLUTION OF TIIE TOWN OF LOS GATOS ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS FOR CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES EFFECTIVE JUNE 23, 1991 THROUGH JUNE 30, 1992 BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos, that the compensation and benefits for confidential employees effective June 23, 1991 through June 30, 1992, shall be as specified in the Memorandum of Understanding with Town Employees' Association for 1991 -92, except as modified in Exhibit A incorporated here by reference. Wages - 1.5% increase effective June 23, 1991 2. Medical - Convert to PERS effective August 1, 1991 with Town providing payment of medical insurance premiums equal to the cost of the Kaiser North Family medical insurance premium offered through PERS. This option is only offered to employees who choose not to participate in the Cafeteria Benefit Program. 3. Dental - Town contribution of $53.00 for Delta Dental Insurance Coverage for employees who choose not to participate in the Cafeteria Benefit Program. 4. Life - In addition to the current coverage of $50,000.00 plus $50,000.00 Accidental Death and Dismemberment, the Town will offer the opportunity to purchase additional term life insurance up to twice the employees base salary not to exceed $150,000.00. S. Vision - The current $120.00 vision reimbursement to be extended to the employees immediate family (spouse, unmarried children under 19 living at home or under 23 and a full -time student). 6. Cafeteria Plan - The Town will allocate $4,245.00 per employee per year towards the purchase of medical, dental, additional life insurance, local health club membership and deferred compensation. Vacation - Vacation to be restored in place of annual leave under the following schedule. 0 -36 months 10 days per year 3.08 hours per pay period. 37 -60 months 15 days per year 4.62 hours per pay period. 61 -120 months 20 days per year 6.16 hours per pay period. 121 -180 months 23 days per year 7.08 hours per pay period. 181 -over months 25 days per year 7.70 hours per pay period. Maximum vacation accrual to be 384 hours. Employees to have the option of cashing out one week of vacation on November 30th of each year. 8. Sick Leave - Sick leave to be restored with the accumulation of the rate of 1 day per month or 3.7 hours per pay period with unlimited total accumulation. 9. Sick Leave Cash Out - Employees who 150 hours who terminate employment leave under the following schedule. 1 -59 months service 60 -119 months service 120 months or more service have a sick leave balance of at least may cash out their accumulated sick 25 %. 37.5 %. 50 %. 10. Annual Leave - The annual leave program is being terminated with annual leave replaced by vacation and sick leave. Existing annual leave balances shall be converted to either vacation or sick leave at the employees option. 11. Retiree Medical - Employees who retire from the Town may convert 100% of their accumulated sick leave to the dollar equivalent of their hourly rate of pay. The Town will contribute to retiree medical coverage under the phase in schedule mandated by PERS and the employees sick leave coverage will be used to pay the remaining portion of the employee only premium. 12. Self -paid PERS - Employees may wish to elect to pay their own PERS contribution during their last year of employment with the Town in order to increase the amount of retirement benefits. 13. Mileage - Mileage reimbursement is to be tied to the rate used by the State of California as long as it does not exceed the IRS limits for reportable income. 14. In the event that another group receives an increase greater than the Confidential employees, an equivalent increase shall be offered to the Confidential employees.
