RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
URGING THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES
TO TAKE ALL STEPS NECESSARY TO
INCREASE HOME RULE
WHEREAS, the recent State budget fiasco demonstrates a major breakdown in
the State government's ability to address the serious issues which affect all Californians; and
WHEREAS, local government is more accessible, more efficient, and more in
tune with the needs and desires of the people who pay the bills; and
WHEREAS, the challenges facing the people of this State require accessible,
efficient, and responsive government.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Council of the town
of Los Gatos urges the League of California Cities to take all steps necessary to increase
the role of local government especially in the areas of legislative and financial decision
making.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos, California, held on the 8th day of September, 1992 by the following
vote:
