1993-041-Finding The Use Of Power Boats On Lexington Reservoir To Be A Burden On Police ServicesRESOLUTION NO. 1993 -41
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
FINDING THE USE OF POWER BOATS ON LEXINGTON RESERVOIR
TO BE A BURDEN ON POLICE SERVICES AND NOT IN THE BEST INTEREST
OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE OF LOS GATOS
WHEREAS, the record shows that the rise in incidents requiring Town police services
at Lexington Reservoir has a direct relationship with the recreational use of power boats;
WHEREAS, the cost of providing those services outside the Town boundaries is not
recovered and it takes away police services from tax paying residents;
WHEREAS, the noise generated by power boats creates a public nuisance in and
around the Town's Urban Service Boundary.
RESOLVED: The Town Council finds that the recreational use of power boats on
Lexington Reservoir would be detrimental to the public health, safety and welfare of the
residents of Los Gatos and should not be permitted.
