RESOLUTION DELETING ARCHITECTURAL DETAILING PREVIOUSLY

BUILDING IN THE C -1 LHP ZONE, EARTHQUAKE ARCHITECTURE AND
SITE APPLICATION ES- 90 -23C
(LOCATED AT 131 W. MAIN STREET /OWNER, DAVID WILSON, ET AL.)
WHEREAS:
A. On December 2, 1991, the Town Council adopted Resolution 1991 -269
approving an Earthquake Architecture and Site application for exterior and interior
modifications to 131 W. Main which was damaged by the earthquake.
B. The Plans approved described various exterior architectural features to be
recreated which included the star shaped plaster medallions which were on the walls
between the second floor windows and the garland over the bay windows.
C. The owner, David Wilson, et al., has requested that the installation of the
medallions and the garlands above the bay windows be ommitted from Architecture and
Site Application ES -90 -23C and that the project be considered completed.
D. The owner had the garland recreated and staff and Council agree with the
owner that the detailing on the garland is disappointing and should not be installed on the
building.

medallions.
F. The Town Council held a public hearing on March 15, 1993.
