RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
COMMENDING THE LOS GATOS LIONS CLUB
FOR SERVICES PROVIDED RELATED TO THE
TOWN'S NON -POINT SOURCE POLLUTION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Federal Clean Water Act has required municipalities to obtain a
National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit to discharge storm
sewers into federal receiving waters; and
WHEREAS, all storm water run -off is carried untreated by the Town's storm sewer
system to the southern portion of the San Francisco Bay; and
WHEREAS, the San Francisco Bay is vital to the environmental and economic
viability of region and to these ends it is essential to control the discharge of non -point
source pollutants; and
WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Los Gatos has unselfishly contributed time and energy
to both the Non -Point Source Program and the community; and
WHEREAS, the community has gained greater understanding of Non -Point Source
Program objectives as a result of the Storm Drain Stenciling Program; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council feels that such outstanding Public Service deserves
special recognition.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
does deem it appropriate and does hereby render, with special appreciation its gratitude
and commendation to the Los Gatos Lions Club for extraordinary service to the Town and
its citizens.

of Los Gatos, California, held on the 7th day of June 1993, by the following vote:
