RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
ADOPTING STANDARDS FOR REVIEW OF
24 HOUR BUSINESS OPERATIONS
WHEREAS, The Town has experienced an increase in 24 hour business operations
over the last few years;
WHEREAS, Twenty -four hour businesses can have an adverse impact on adjoining
neighborhoods concerning noise, glare and traffic;
WHEREAS, It is the Town's responsibility to protect the health, safety and welfare
of its residents;
RESOLVED: The Town Council adopts the following standards to be used for review
of any Conditional Use Permit for a 24 hour business.
1. Noise emitted from 24 hour businesses adjacent to residential zones shall not
exceed those noise standards established for the residential zone.
2. Window coverings shall be employed for windows facing residential properties
to minimize light and glare during late night and early morning hours.
3. Deliveries shall not be allowed between the hours of 9 PM and 7AM.
4. No restaurants shall be permitted to operate 24 hours adjacent to residential
zones.
5. Business operations shall be oriented toward the commercial frontage.

day of November, 1993, by the following vote:
