RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
INCREASING REGULATORY FEES
FOR THE RENT MEDIATION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, regulatory fees are charged to certain property owners in order
to cover costs incurred in implementing the Rent Mediation Program; and
WHEREAS, the program is operated on a cost recovery basis; and
WHEREAS, the program will operate on a deficit starting July 1, 1994, if
regulatory fees are not increased;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS
GATOS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: A regulatory fee of $22.00 per year
shall be paid annually at the time at which the landlord's business license fee is due. A
landlord who fails to pay the fee within 30 days after the Town mails its bill shall pay a
25 percent penalty, plus an additional 25 percent for every additional 30 days, and shall also
not be entitled to any rent increase until the full fee and penalties are paid.

PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos, California, held on the 15th day of November, 1993, by the following
vote:
