A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
ALLOCATING PROPOSITION 172
SALES TAX REVENUES TO LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES
WHEREAS, through the passage of Proposition 172, the people of California
reaffirmed the principle that government's first and foremost duty is to provide for public
safety; and
WHEREAS, a recent national poll found that crime is considered the most important
issue facing our nation; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council is dedicated to setting priorities which will provide
for the safety of its citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Los
Gatos that revenues received by the Town from the half cent sales tax approved by
Proposition 172 shall be used to augment the Police Department budget.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, California, held on the third day of January, 1994, by the following vote:
