RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS ENCOURAGING
RESIDENTS NOT TO SUPPORT THE PHILIP MORRIS
STATEWIDE SMOKING INITIATIVE
WHEREAS, The Town has established community standards for regulating smoking
in public places; and
WHEREAS, The Town is against any state legislation that preempts local authority
to regulate smoking in public buildings.
RESOLVED: The Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos encourages local
residents not sign the petition for statewide legislation that precludes local government from
adopting or maintaining local regulation.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council held on the
2nd day of May, 1994, by the following vote:
