RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
DETERMINING THAT THE SERVICES TO RESTORE THE J. W. LYNDON CUPOLA
ARE UNIQUE AND SPECIALIZED, AND DIRECT STAFF TO SEEK A NEGOTIATED BID
FOR THE SERVICES
WHEREAS, on June 12, 1996, the Town received only one bid for J. W. Lyndon
Carriage House Cupola Restoration, and
WHEREAS, the bid was more than six times the Engineer's estimate, and
WHEREAS, on June 17, 1996, the Town Council rejected the bid received, and
WHEREAS, a subsequent investigation demonstrates that the Town could save a
significant amount of money through a negotiated bid process, and
WHEREAS, the Town Council finds that because of the uniqueness and special
characteristics of the services, it is more advantageous to the Town to proceed by negotiated bid
pursuant to Los Gatos Town Code § 2.50.130(3),
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that it is determined that the services to restore
the J. W. Lyndon Cupola are unique and specialized, and directs staff to seek a negotiated bid for
the services
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, California, held on the 16th day of September, 1996 by the following vote:

Mayor Randy Attaway.
