A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS ESTABLISH-
ING A DEADLINE FOR REQUESTING PUBLIC HEARING
CONTINUANCES
WHEREAS, the purpose of public hearings is to provide members of the
community with an opportunity to express their views on matters of concern, and
WHEREAS, continuance of public hearings without adequate notice tend
to discourage public participation in subsequent hearings.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council establishes the policy
that it will not accept requests for continuances from applicants on planning
matters after 12:00 noon of the Friday preceeding any Council meeting,
provided, however, that the Council retains the right to make exceptions to
this policy when it finds that a genuine emergency exists which was not known
to the applicant prior to 12 :00 noon of the Friday prior to such Council
Meeting.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos held on the 1st day of May, 1978, by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: Ruth Cannon, Thomas J. Ferrite,
John B. Lochner, Peter W. Siemens and Mardi Gualtieri
NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
