MINUTES OF THE TOWN COUNCIL/PARKING AUTHORITY MEETING
MARCH 17, 2014
The Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos conducted a Special Meeting on Monday,
March 17, 2014, to hold a Closed Session at 5:00 p.m., to conduct board, commission,
and committee interviews at 5:30 p.m., and a Regular Meeting at 7:00 p.m.
BUSINESS MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:00 P.M.
ROLL CALL
Present: Mayor Steven Leonardis, Vice Mayor Marcia Jensen, Council Member Joe
Pirzynski, Council Member Diane McNutt, Council Member Barbara Spector.
Absent: None
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Morgan Tinsley led the Pledge of Allegiance. The audience was invited to participate.
PRESENTATIONS
Mayor Leonardis presented the Small Business, Big Applause commendation to
Shephard Jewelers.
Mayor Leonardis presented a proclamation to Jimmy Deenihan, Irish Minister of Arts &
Culture.
Laura Herron and Roisin Gilmore, members of the Whelan-Kennelly Academy of Irish
Dance, performed an Irish dance.
CLOSED SESSION REPORT
Robert Schultz, Town Attorney, stated Council met in Closed Session as duly noted on
the agenda and there is no report.

Council Matters
- Council Member Joe Pirzynski stated he attended the Valley Transportation
Authority Board of Directors, the Housing and Community Development Committee,
and Cities Association meetings.
- Vice Mayor Marcia Jensen stated she attended the Valley Transportation Authority
Policy Board Meeting.
- Mayor Steven Leonardis stated he attended the West Valley Sanitation District
Board of Directors meeting.
Manager Matters
- Announced Silicon Valley Reads will hold two events in Los Gatos on Friday, March
21, at Village Books and the Library.
- Acknowledged the Los Gatos High School Senior Government class in attendance
at the meeting.

1. Approve Council minutes of March 3, 2014
2. Cat Walk Art Installation
a. Accept recommendation from the Arts and Culture Commission to enter
into an agreement with Faducci LLC to fabricate and install 10 sculptured
cats along North Santa Cruz Avenue for the Cat Walk Art Installation
project
b. Authorize the Town Manager to execute an agreement between the Town
of Los Gatos and Faducci LLC in an amount not to exceed $8,000.00
3. Adopt a resolution authorizing the Town Manager to enter into an agreement with
Placeworks, Inc., to prepare the Housing Element Update and required

environmental review documents.
4. Adopt resolution making determinations and approving the reorganization of
territory designated as Shady View Lane No. 1, containing approximately .41
acres, located at 16505 Shady View Lane (APN: 532-03-016) File #AN14-001.

MOTION: MotionCouncil Member Barbara Spector
by granting an appeal
and remanding the matter to the Planning Commission, striking the
paragraph in the resolution regarding new information and that new
information on condominium form of ownership and leaving the
paragraph regarding new information that the Planning Commission
did not have benefit of reviewing and that the applicant is prepared
to make plan changes to address neighbors’ concerns. The matter
is remanded to the Planning Commission for further consideration
of the proposed project in terms of the number of units, size, and
location, pursuant to the General Plan, Conditional Use Permit,
