The report is the largest and most detailed summary of the climate change situation ever undertaken, produced by thousands of authors, editors, and reviewers from dozens of countries, citing over 6,000 peer -reviewed scientific studies. It supersedes the Third Assessment Report (2001), and will in turn be superseded by the Fifth Assessment Report (expected in 2014(dateamf°) The headline findings of the report were: "warming of the climate system is unequivocal", and "most of the observed increase in global average temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations." 2) Require or encourage: 1) All flat roof commercial buildings have white roofs. 2) All other commercial buildings and new residential construction or remodels must have white or cool roofs. THE MUSEUMS of LOS GATOS ART • HISTORY Dear Mayor and Council: Thank you for taking the time to review this matter. The Museum has recently been informed by the Town Manager's office that "[B]ased on our costs in 2001 (the last year the old library was occupied), the per square foot costs for electric and gas was $3.46. That translates to $40,150 per year and $3,346 per month for the Museums 11,604 square feet. This does not include water, sewer, and garbage service as we had not calculated those costs yet." Such a cost will be financially problematic for the Museum in its first three years of tenancy. The Museum's moving and remodeling costs together with ongoing operational costs will be a great challenge. The three year rent moratorium already in the lease recognizes the Museum's need to assume greater financial obligations gradually over time. Hence the Museum is requesting that a three year moratorium on the payment of any utilities by the Museum in the leased space be added to the lease by way of an addendum. Such an addendum will be consistent with the three year moratorium on the payment of rent already agreed to under the lease. Respectfully Submitted Jeffrey D. Main Street Los Gatos, CA 95030 Re: Town Council Retreat Agenda, February 10, 2014 Dear Members of Town Council: Completion of the North 40 Specific Plan has been a strategic goal for the Town of Los Gatos for decades. The most recent effort to complete a plan has now been in process for five years starting with the work to update the General Plan in 2009. We have chosen to work with a patient and reputable developer in Grosvenor which has provided significant resources to the Town to fund this undertaking in a transparent and inclusive way. This effort culminated in completion of the draft Specific Plan by the North 40 Specific Plan Advisory Committee last fall. We are writing to urge the Town Council to make it a priority to complete the Specific Plan as is currently outlined in your strategic goals by the middle of this year. To that end, we urge the Town to release the EIR for public review as soon as possible to keep the process on track. This timing is important to both Grosvenor and our family in determining the future of our property. Respectfully, YUKI FAMILY --Thomas M. Yuki r` Edward S. Morimoto THIS PAGE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK
