RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AUTHORIZING THE USE OF
LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS
TO PURCHASE A CANINE, TRAIN BOTH THE DOG AND A HANDLER,
AND FOR ASSOCIATED COSTS
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Justice Assistance has awarded the Town of Los Gatos a
Local Law Enforcement Block Grants Program; and,
WHEREAS, the grant application specified that grant funds would be used to purchase
equipment; and,
WHEREAS, the advisory board established to make a non - binding recommendation to
the Town on the use of the grant funds has recommended that the funds be used to purchase and train
a canine and handler in drug detection;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Los
Gatos, County of Santa Clara, State of California, that the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant funds
awarded to the Town shall be used to purchase a canine, train both the dog and a handler, and for
associated costs.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos,
California, held on the 1 st day of March, 1999 by the following vote:
