ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 -7 OF THE TOWN CODE TO
DECLARE CODE VIOLATIONS A PUBLIC NUISANCE
The Town Council of Los Gatos hereby ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
Section 1 -7 of the Town. Code is amended to read as follows:
" Sec. 1-7 General penalty; contixiuing;'Violations
Whenever in this Code, or in any other ordinance of the town, or in
any rule, regulation or order issued or pramlgated pursuant thereto, any act is
prohibited, or is made or declared to be unlawful, or an offense or a misdemeanor,
or the doing of.any act is required, or the failure to do any act is declared to
be unlawful or a misdemeanor, where no specific penalty is provided therefor, the
violation of any such provision of this Code, or any other ordinance of the town,
or any such rule, regulation or order, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding
five hundred dollars, or imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, or by
both such fine and imprisonment. Violation of any section of this Code is also
declared to be a public nuisance.
Every day any violation of this Code, or any other ordinance of the
town, or any such rule, regulation or order, shall continue shall constitute a
separate offense."
SECTION 2.
This ordinance takes effect 30 days after the date it is adopted. Within
15 days after this ordinance is adopted, the Town Clerk shall cause it to be published
once in a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the Town.
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the Town Council
of the Town of Los Gatos on June 20, 1983 , and adopted by the following
vote as an ordinance of the Town of Los Gatos at a regular meeting of the Town
Council on July 18, 1983
