AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AMENDING SECTION 2.5 AND SECTION 28.3.5 OF
THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS CODE RELATING TO
NON- ELECTED DUTIES OF TOWN CLERK AND
TRANSFERRING TAX & LICENSE COLLECTION
TO THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
SECTION 1
Section 2.5 of the Town Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 2 -5 Method of payment of compensation of appointive officers
and employees.
Resolution or orders for the payment of compensation for all appointive
officers and employees of the Town shall be adopted or made only at a regular
meeting of the Town Council.
Department heads shall certify or approve departmental payrolls or
attendance records for employees in their departments. The Town Manager will
certify or approve payroll or attendance of the Department Heads and Town Clerk.
The Town Clerk shall certify or approve payrolls or attendance records of all
Council appointed employees and the Town Council.
Salaries and wages of appointive officers and employees of the Town shall
be paid by payroll warrants issued in accordance with the time schedule
established by resolution of the Town Council.
Payroll warrants need not be audited by the Town Council prior to payment.
Payrolls shall be presented to the Town Council for ratification and approval
at the first regular meeting after delivery of the payroll warrants.
SECTION 2
Section 28 -3.5 of the Town Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 28 -3.5. Same- Same - Finance Director designated as tax and license
collector
The Finance Director is the tax and license collector.
SECTION 3
This ordinance takes effect 30 days after it is adopted. Within 15 days
after this ordinance is adopted the Town Clerk shall cause it to be published
once in a newspaper or general circulation published and circulated in the Town.
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the Town Council of
the Town of Los Gatos on January 3, 1989 and adopted by the following vote as
an ordinance of the Town of Los Gatos at a adjourned regular meeting of the Town
Council of the Town of Los Gatos on January 23, 1989.
