AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS ACCEPTING
THE PENAL CODE REQUIREMENT RELATING TO THE
SELECTION AND TRAINING STANDARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY
DISPATCHERS
Section 1. The Town of Los Gatos declares that it desires to
qualify to receive aid from the State of California under the provisions of
Section 13522, Chapter 1, of Title 4, Part 4, of the California Penal Code.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 13510(c), Chapter 1, the Los Gatos
Police Department will adhere to standards for recruitment and training
established by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and
Training (POST).
Section 3. Pursuant to Section 13512, Chapter 1, the Commission
and its representatives may make such inquiries as deemed appropriate by the
Commission to ascertain that the Los Gatos Police Department's public safety
dispatcher personnel adhere to standards for selection and training established
by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training.
This ordinance takes effect 30 days after the date it is adopted.
Within 15 days after this ordinance is adopted the Town Clerk shall cause it to
be published once in a newspaper of general circulation published and
circulated in the Town.
This ordinance was introduced at a regular
meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los atos on November 21 ,
1988 and adopted by the following vote as an ordinance of the Town of Los G atos
at a regular meeting of the Town Council on December 5 , 1988.
