ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AMENDING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 14 TO EXEMPT
BUSINESSES WHOSE ONLY INCOME IN TOWN DERIVES
FROM CONTRACTS WITH THE TOWN FOR SMALL AMOUNTS
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES HEREBY
ORDAIN:
SECTION I
Purpose. This ordinance is intended to provide business license tax exemption for
persons whose only wort{ in the Town consists of contracts with the Town involving small
contract prices and who would simply pass on the expense of the business license tax to the
Town. This would involve an unnecessary and possibly increased expense to the community.
SECTION II
A new Section 14.20.125 is added to the Town Code as follows:
14.20.1.25 Exemption for Contractors to the Town
Any business whose income from business in the Town is not more than five hundred
dollars ($500) during any calendar year and is derived solely from contracts with the Town
is exempt from payment of the business license taxes set forth in this Article for that
calendar year.

SECTION II
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos on June 27, 1994 and adopted by the following vote as an ordinance of the
Town of Los Gatos at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos on
July 5, 1994. This ordinance takes effect 30 days after it is adopted.
