AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS AMENDING
ARTICLE II, TOWN COUNCIL, SALARIES, SECTION 2.20.025
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS ORDAINS:
SECTION I
Article 2, Section 2.20.025, is amended to read as follows:
Section 2.20.025.
Salaries
(a) Purpose.This section is enacted pursuant to Section 36516(a) of the Government
Code of the state, authorizing the Town Council to provide by ordinance that eac h
member of the Town Council shall receive a prescribed salary, the amount of which
is based upon the population of the Town as determined by estimates made by the Stat e
Department of Finance.
(c) Amount.Each member of the Town Council shall receive, as salary, up to three
hundred dollars ($300.00) per month, as prescribed in section 36516(a) of the
Government Code for cities) up to and including thirty-five thousand (35,000) i n
population, which shall be payable from and after the operative date of this section at
the same time and in the same manner as the salaries are paid to other officers an d
employees of the Town.
SECTION II
In the event that any part of this ordinance is held to be invalid, the invalid part or parts shall b e
severed from the remaining portions which shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION III
This Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gato s
on December 6, 2004, and adopted by the following vote as an Ordinance of the Town of Los Gatos at a
meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos on the 20th of December, 2004. This Ordinance
takes effect 30 days after it is adopted.
