SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES
RECOMMENDATION:
1. Conduct appointment process for: Planning Commission and General Plan Committee
2. Direct Clerk Administrator to continue to advertise any unfilled positions.
DISCUSSION:
On August 1, 2011 Council will interview applicants for the vacant positions on the Planning
Commission and General Plan Committee. Attached is a list of the commissions, the number of
vacancies, and names of applicants. In order to complete the interview process prior to the start
of the Town Council meeting, it is recommended that Council plan for a maximum of 5 minutes
for each interview.
Eric Eberle and Melanie Hanssen are unable to attend the interview. All other applicants have
confirmed attendance for the interview process.
Following the interviews, during the business meeting starting at 7:00 p.rn., the Council may
appoint applicants to the vacant positions with a majority vote. Upon completion of the
appointment process, the Clerk Department will continue to accept applications for vacant
positions. The next scheduled recruitment is set for September, 2011 with interviews to be held
in early November, 2011.

CONCLUSION:
It is recommended that Council appoint applicants to fill vacant Town commission positions, and
direct the Clerk Administrator to continue to advertise any unfilled positions.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended action.
