SUBJECT: 2010 COUNCIL/COMMISSION RETREAT
BACKGROUND:
On a periodic basis, the Town Council invites the Town's Boards and Commissions to meet with them
in a retreat format to discuss issues of mutual interest. The traditional Council/Commission retreats are
conducted as a series of meetings with individual Commissions discussing accomplishments for the past
year and proposed new issues to address.
DISCUSSION:
This retreat, in lieu of the traditional Council Commission Retreat, will consist of the following
1. Presentation of the recently adopted 2010-2012 Core Values and Strategic Goals (see attachment)
2. Preview of the Town's fiscal and budget situation for next year and beyond
3. Leadership Discussion on Town Priorities for the neat two }rears
For the last item, the Chairs (or designee) of each Commission will be invited to join the Cowlcil at the
center table in the Council Chambers to discuss how the Council adopted priorities for the next two
years will affect the v~rork and focus of the Commissions and the community in general. Other
Commissioners in attendance will be provided an opportunity to comment as well during the course of
the meeting.
