RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
ON ENERGY CONSERVATION MEASURES
WHEREAS., California continues to face unprecedented energy challenges and severe
electricity supply shortages; and
WHEREAS, the importance of immediate energy conservation efforts cannot be
overstated.; and
WHE1tEAS, Governor Gray Davis has asked that all Californians to reduce electricity
whenever possible...; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos has already .implemented a number of projects to
conserve energy including the. replacement of fluorescent lighting tubes with current industry standard
fluorescent tubes, resulting in an energy savings of 25 percent; the installation of a Compressed Natural
Gas Station for selected Town vehicles.; the installation of light emitting diodes {LED) bulbs in traffic
signals; and the ongoing conservation of Town building lighting and appliance usage:; and
VV~IEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos urges its residents and businesses to reduce their
energy consumption; and

RESOLVED, that the Town of Los Gatos Town Council has taken past .and present
actions to reduce its electricity use and is committed to continuing its efforts to conserve energy and other
natural resources.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, California, held on the 7`~' day of May, 2001 by the following vote:
