RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
COMMENDING
SANDY DECKER FOR HER SERVICE TO THE TOWN AS A MEMBER
OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
WHEREAS, Sandy Decker was appointed to the Planning Commission and has
faithfully served from March 1,1994 through February 29, 2000 as a Commissioner, which
has brought distinction to herself and credit to the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, Sandy served as both Vice Chair and Chair of the Planning Commission,.
and could always be counted on to read the Commission packet and diligently do her homework.
WHEREAS, during her tenure, Sandy served on the General Plan Committee and
Conceptual Development Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, during her tenure, Sandy assisted the Planning Commission in major
studies and projects including the General Plan Housing and Route 85 Elements, Design
Standards for the Downtown Historic District, Grading Regulations, Secondary Units, Los Gatos
Boulevard Charrette/Plan and Design Guidelines, and Downtown Streetscape
Major applications included Old Town Renovation, Calvary Church Expansion and
Master Plan, Toll House Hotel Expansion, Summerhill Development on Blossom.Hill Road,
Lark Avenue, The Dome, 71 Miles and Cornerstone Shopping Center; and
WHEREAS, Sandy was especially passionate about the residential neighborhoods and
maintaining the Town's small-town character.
WHEREAS, Sandy could always be counted on to provide a witty parting gift and
speech for retiring Planning Commissioners and staff; and
WHEREAS, in all of the above endeavors, Sandy has shown unselfish public service for
the protection of community values.
NOW, THEREFORE, The Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos does hereby render,
with special appreciation, commendation and thanks to Sandy Decker.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of
Los Gatos, California held on the 22°a day of May, 2000 by the following vote:
