Regulating the Sale and Use of Firearms, Explosives and Air Rifles,
Prov1ding for the Disposal Thereof" passed and adopted by the

Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an
urgency measure and necessary for the immediate preservation of
the public peace, health and safety, and shall take effect and be
in full force forthwith. The following is a statement of the
-1 -
facts constituting such urgency:
The Town Council finds that CARL N. SWENSON CO., INC.,
contractor, has attempted to remove said concrete bases
of bridge arches on said bridge by usual methods short
of using Jack hammers or by blasting and has been unable
to remove said concrete bases of said bridge arches; that
by use of crews using a Jack hammer, the noise is deafen-
ing and will require an indefinite number of days and
nights for said operation, which would, because of said
noise disturb the peace, quiet, comfort and health of the
citizens of the Town of Los Gatos in the vicinity of
said bridge.
