LBERt.:i.OSI S OF THE LUNGS CilR LARYNX. All cases of tuberculosis of the lungs or larynx shall be carefully instructed by the attending physician, if there be one, or if not by the Health Offi cer, in the proper disposal of sputum and other sani tary measures neceSsaly to prevent the spread of the disease from theppatiento No person afflicted with t berw culosis of the lungs or larynx shall expectorate upon any floor, walls, or dace within any dwelling or building, or upon any side- walk, street or alley, or any where except into a proper cloth or paper receptacle which can be burned or disinfected, or into a spitooh privoded with a sdff:icieent Quantity of disinfectant sol- ut i.n, whi oh spitoon must be each day emptied and properly cleaned and disinfected, and a new quantity of disinfectant soluti on sup- plied. Every Person afflicted wi th tuberculosis of the lungs oriarynx shall sleep in a separate bed and room, and shall use separate utensils for eating, which shall be boiled after each time said utensils are used® No person afflicted with tuberculosis of the lungs or larynx shall in any manner be engaged in themanufacture, preparation„ or handling of any food or food product for hur.an consumption. En case any person afflicted with tuberculosis of the lungs or larynx shall be unable, or shall refuse or neglect to taek such precautions e2ainst the spread of the disease as are herein set forth, or any other reasonable precautions which naSA be re- quired by the attending physician or the Health officer, the Health Officer, shall, upon the recuest of the attending Thy= sician or upon his own initizative take such measures as may be necessary to restrain the said person from transmitting the disease. Upon termination of a case of tuberculosis of the lungs, either by death removal or recovery, the room occupied by the case as a bedroom and any other room habitually occupied by the case, shall bbe thoroughly cleansed and renovated, and shall there- upon be sunned and aired for not less than eighty (80) hours before being reoccupied. 7e TYPHOID FEVER. The Regulati;.ns of the California State Board of ,ealth for the Prevention of Tythoid Fever, as published in the hay 1914 issue of the Bulletin of said Board, are her ebv adopted as the Regulati onsof this -Board for the Prevention of Typhoid Fever. 8. WHOOPING COUGH. (P ert us s is ) The patient aball be isolated upon the premises, and shall not leave the same except in a separate vehicle or conveyance, w hbch behicl e or conveyance shall not be left by the patient until the Patient returns to said premises, ex oept that in par- ticular cases the patient may be permitted by the Health officer to leave the said premise, under such other rules as will properly protect the public health, provided that no patient be remitted to attend or be taken to any school, place of amusement, or pub- lic assemblage, or upon any public and fre uented street. The period ofisolation shall be not less than three (3) weeks, or longer is spasmodic coughing and the t'T i_Ca1 whoop csati.nue. A warning placard, containing the words "Whooping Cough" in large and dis- tinct letters, shall be conspicuously attached to the premises upon which the patient is isolated, and shall not be removed until the period of isolation is terminated. During the time that the patient is away from the premises in the manner as above st: , ed, the patient shall be in the charge of a responsible adult person; who shall exercise all due diligence to ensure that said patient shall not some in contact with any person or persons, or hold any intercourse with any person or rersons other th'?.n said responsible adult person. All persons in contact with the patient, who have pre- viously had whooping cough, and who do not have a cough or cold, shall not be restricted, provided the patient is properly is- olated.
