REQUIRING DWELLINGS TO B CONN'CTED IPR SEERS AND DE
CLARING GESS POOLS'/VAULTS ANL PRIVIES TO BE
NUISANCES AND PROVIDING PENALTIES
THEREFOR.
Be it ordained by the Board of Trustees of the To of Los Gatos
as follows:
Section 1. That all cess pools, vaults or privies for the reception
of human excrement or. fecal matter, existing or being on any lot,
piece or parcel of land, within the Town of Los Gatos in front of
which, or abutting whereon there is a public sewer which has been ae
cepted by said Town for the period of time herein provided, be, and
the same are hereby declared to be a public nuisance.
Section 2. Every owner or occupant of any lot, piece or parcel of
land upon which such nuisance exists, is hereby required to remove and
abate the same and to connect said premises, and all water closets ex-
isting thereon, -Ithin 30 days from and after the date of the approval
of this ordingilce.
Section 3. Every owner or occupant of any lot, piece or parcel of
land in the Town cf Los Gatos upon vhich a nuisance rlay hereafter
ex-
ist as defined in Section 1 of this ordinance by reason of the construc-
tion of a public sewer fronting OT abutting said premises, is hereby
required to remove and abate the same, and to commect said premises
and all water closets, privies and toilets existing thereon with said
public sewer in front of, or abutting thereon, within thirty days
from and after the date of the acceptance by said Town of said sewer;
provided there is in the street fronting or abutting the property on
which said nuisance exists, a. water mai4 or water pipe from which
he may procure ample water by pUrchase or otherwise with which to flush
the sewer that is, or Should be on the premises, and the vault or
privy with Which tlae sewer is connected or should be connected, or that
there is an ample supply of water upon the lot, piece or parcel of land
to properly flush the sewer and fixtures.
Section 4. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinan-
cex is hereby declared to be guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be pmi-
ishable by a fine not exceeding G100.00 or by imprisonment in the
for a term not exceeding 30 days, or by both such fine and im-
prisomlent.
Section 5. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed.
Section 6. This ordinance shall take effect ana be in force
