M 01-11-1982110 January 11, 198 2 Los Gatos, Californi a TOWN COUNCIL The Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos met in the Counci l Chambers of the Town Hall at 7 :30 p .m ., in adjourned regula r session . ROLL CALL PRESENT : Thomas J . Ferrito, MarLyn J . Rasmussen, Brent N . Ventura and Mayor Peter W . Siemens . ABSENT : Ruth Cannon . REPORT RE Mayor Siemens reported on the Executive Session held prio r EXECUTIVE SESSION to the Council meeting, stating Council had discussed th e following matters : 1.Status of Villa Vasona litigation . 2.Status of Novitiate Park acquisition litigation . CHANGE OF Mr . Ventura moved for adoption of Ordinance No . 1524 entitled , ELECTION DATE AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS CHANGING THE DATE O F FOR MUNICIPAL GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS FROM THE SECOND TUESDAY IN APRI L ELECTION TO THE SAME DAY AS THE LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT ELECTION . Mayo r Siemens seconded . Carried by a vote of three ayes . Mrs . Rasmussen voting no . Discussion was held regarding languag e to be used-in the mail notification to all registered voter s in Los Gatos . Draft of said notification to be brought t o Council for review at their February 1, 1982, meeting . REQUEST RE Mayor Siemens stated this request had been continued from th e SPRING BALLET meeting of January 4, 1982, to allow Lucille Hogan, Chairwoma n of the Cultural Resource Commission, to speak on this request . Mrs . Hogan stated that due to lack of available facilities i n Los Gatos, she was here to request Council's permission t o perform the Spring Ballet for children at West Valley Colleg e thereby servicing both Los Gatos and Saratoga . It"wa s consensus of Council that due to Town's contribution to th e Cultural Resources Commission for this they felt the balle t shouidLbe performed in Los Gatos or if held in Saratoga, the n Saratoga should contribute half of the money for the performance . Mrs . Hogan asked that no final decision be made until sh e further explores the possibility of the use of Fisher or Dave s Avenue Schools . After further discussion, Mr . Ferrito move d that Council indicate its willingness to contribute $500 .00 , toward the ballet being held in Saratoga contingent o n Saratoga matching that amount . Mr . Ventura seconded . Unanimously carried . INTERVIEWS Mayor Siemens stated this was the time and place scheduled fo r PLANNING interviews of applicants for the vacancy on the Plannin g COMMISSION Commission . Applicants are Robert Barrow, Donald L . Crum , APPLICANTS Terrence Daily ; Kathryn Morgan, Anne Patrus and Mildred Voelker . Nominated for the position were Terrence Daily, Mildred Voelker , Ann Patrus and Kathryn Morgan . Voting was held and Terrenc e Daily received the majority vote, and was appointed as Plannin g Commissioner to fill the unexpired term of Bradley Clifford . After said appointment Council directed the Town Clerk to d o necessary advertising to notice the forth coming vacancy o n the Youth Advisory Commission . ADJOURNMENT Mrs . Rasmussen moved meeting be adjourned at 8 :15 p .m . Mr . Ferrito seconded . Unanimously carried . ATTEST :
