TEEN COUNSELING CENTER A. ADOPT RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TOWN MANAGER TO AMEND LEASE AGREEMENT WITH TEEN COUNSELING CENTER TO INCLUDE LEASE OF ROOM 6 IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER B. AUTHORIZE BUDGET INCREASE IN REVENUE BUDGET OF $1,360 RECOMMENDATION: 1. Adopt resolution authorizing Town Manager to amend lease agreement with Teen Counseling Center to include room 6 in the Neighborhood Center. 2. Authorize budget increase in revenue budget of $1,360. DISCUSSION: The Town entered into the current lease agreement with the Teen Counseling Center in 1995. The agreement has been amended once to extend the lease term from July 1, 1996 through June 30, 1999. The Teen Counseling Center is currently leasing rooms 1 and 2 (547 s.f.) at a cost of $1.17 per square foot per month. Attached is a draft amendment to the lease agreement reflecting the agency's desire to lease additional space ( room 6 - 129 s.f.) in the Neighborhood Center effective October 1, 1998. ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENTS: This is not a project defined under CEQA, and no further action is required. FISCAL IMPACT: Neighborhood Center lease revenues for FY 1998-99 are budgeted at $9,440 in account 695-48510. Authorize budget increase of $1,360 to account 695-48510. TEEN Attachrne ' 1 Counseling Center of the West Valley Over a decade of helping teens and families make positive changes September 3, 1998 Ms. Regina Falkner Director, Community Services Town of Los Gatos Dear Regina: On August 28, 1998, the Board of Directors of the Teen Counseling Center approved the budget for FY 1998-99. Included in this budget were funds to cover rent for additional space in the Los Gatos Neighborhood Center. We are interested in adding a small office to the space we already occupy. It is my understanding that Room 6 may be available for rent. This room would meet our needs very well. We would like to utilize the space as an office, for use by our interns, as a place for making confidential phone calls, making session notes, keeping files, etc. We would like to move in as soon as possible. Please let me know if it would be possible for us to rent this space and at what cost. We pay $1.17 per square foot for the space we now occupy and I am assuming the cost for additional space would be similar. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. And, while I am at it, thank you, Regina, for all you do for us. Your help and guidance with donation and grant opportunities are especially appreciated. You and the Town of Los Gatos have a substantial impact on the Teen Counseling Center's success in its mission of helping young people and their families make positive changes in their lives.
