RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS ADJUSTING
HOURS OF ENFORCEMENT OF PASSENGER LOADING PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON
PORTIONS OF EAST MAIN STREET IN FRONT OF LOS GATOS HIGH SCHOOL
WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 22507 and Town Code Sections 15.40.015
authorize the Town Council to enact local regulations of parking prohibitions by resolution; and
WHEREAS,the current hours of passenger loading restrictions on East Main Street, in
front of Los Gatos High School, no longer closely align with the high school's current bell
schedule and exceed the reasonable amount of time necessary for student pick-up and drop-off
activities; and
WHEREAS,the Town Council seeks to adjust the hours of enforcement of passenger
loading zones on portions of East Main Street in front of Los Gatos High School, as depicted in
the attached map (Exhibit A),to accommodate the current demand for student pick-up and
drop-off and to promote more efficient use of these valuable public parking spaces.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos
does adopt Exhibit A, attached hereto. The parking regulations adopted herein shall not
invalidate any existing posted parking restrictions that apply outside of the days and hours
designated for passenger loading in Exhibit A. The parking regulations, as described in Exhibit A,
become effective only upon the erection of appropriate signs giving adequate notice of such
regulations.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los
Gatos, California, held on the 2nd day of December, 2025, by the following vote.
