Item 3 Staff Report Code Compliance Quaterly Report for March Through June 2001COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT DATE: July 11, 2001 TO: MAYOR AND TO COUNCIL FROM: TOWN MANAGER SUBJECT: CODE COMPLIANCE QUARTERLY REPORT FOR MARCH THROUGH JUNE 2001 MEETING DATE: 7/16/01 ITEM NO. 3 RECOMMENDATION: Accept the Code Compliance quarterly report. DISCUSSION: During this quarter there has been an improved level of service as compared to the fourth quarter of 1999- 2000. For example, in most cases a complaint was checked within 24 hours to determine if there was a violation. In cases of major issues, such as health and safety, personal contact is made with the violator which has quickly resulted in the abatement of the violation. There has been a drop in the number of sign violations during the first quarter of 2001 - 2002 as compared to the fourth quarter of 1999 - 2000. During this quarter a significant amount of time was spent in the area of major issues, training, and pending cases. Staff is now working on a plan that will directly address unlawful signs..
