Adopt resolution repealing the Downtown Specific Plan

DOWNTOWN SPECIFIC PLAN.
On July 17, 2000, the Town Council adopted a resolution certifying the Final EIR and adopting General Plan 2000. The
Council discussed the Downtown Specific Plan (DSP) and decided to repeal it as the implementation measures in the
Plan have either been completed or carried over to the General Plan 2000. Relevant implementing strategies were
incorporated into the General Plan 2000 and were strengthened, making the DSP obsolete. The attached resolution has
been prepared to repeal the Downtown Specific Plan.

RESOLUTION 2000-
RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
RESCINDING RESOLUTION 1982-101 THEREBY REPEALING
THE DOWNTOWN SPECIFIC PLAN.
WHEREAS, the Town Council adopted the General Plan 2000 on July 17, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the Downtown Specific Plan is no longer needed as the implementation
measures have either been completed or carried forward to the General Plan 2000; and
WHEREAS, the relevant policies and implementing strategies of the Downtown Specific
Plan have been incorporated into the General Plan 2000 and strengthened; and
WHEREAS, the intent of the Town Council in adopting the General Plan 2000 was to
repeal the Downtown Specific Plan;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: The Town Council hereby rescinds Resolution 1982-
101 thereby repealing the Downtown Specific Plan.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los
Gatos, California, held on the 7th day of August, 2000 by the following vote:

VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS
Music In The Plaza:
Ray Davis, resident, spoke highly of the Music in the Plaza program and encouraged others to attend.
Anti Graffiti Program:
John Tice, 570 University Ave, # 13, has been working with San Jose on the severe graffiti problem on
the Highway 85/Winchester overpass and asked Council to agendize this issue and address the three
overpasses in this location at the same time. The City of San Jose, CalTrans and Union Pacific are all
taking a part in this graffiti program. Council Consensus to put this subject on the agenda as soon as
information is compiled.
PUBLIC HEARINGS
ABATEMENT OF HAZARDOUS VEGETATION (BRUSH)/RESOLUTION 2000-101 (14.28)
Mayor Blanton announced that this was the time and place so noted for public hearing to consider and
confirm report and assessment on abatement of brush within the Town of Los Gatos.
