SUBJECT: ACCEPT STATi1S/UPDATE ON HILLSIDE DEVELOPMENT FIRE PREVENTION POLICY
DISCUSSION:
The Town Council considered establishing a hillside fire prevention policy on September 18, 2000. The Council agreed
with the staff recommendation to study this issue with the update of the Hillside Development Standards. The Council
approved the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Hillside Standards update on November 6, 2000. The RFP will be sent
to prospective consultants and staff will forward a report to Council recommending a consultant to update the Hillside
Standards. It is anticipated that a consultant will be hired early next year and the new hillside design guidelines will be
completed by Fall 2001.
CONCLUSION:
Staff recommends that the Council take no action at this time.
