ADDING SECTION 29.40.038 OF THE TOWN CODE TO:

2. ADD RESTRICTIONS CONCERNING THE REPAIR OF VEHICLES ON
RESIDENTIAL LOTS
THIS MATTER WILL NOT HAVE A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT AND
IS, THEREFORE, EXEMPT FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CALIFORNIA
ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT. ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT A-94-3.
APPLICANT: TOWN OF LOS GATOS. (CONTINUED FROM OCTOBER 3, 1994)
DISCUSSION:
Councilmember Lubeck asked that the following changes be part of the ordinance to be introduced:
Amend Section 29.40.038(b) to read:
(b) No repair on any vehicle visible from a street or within a front or side yard shall be
performed on a lot for more than seventy-two (72) hours from the beginning to completion of the
repair. If repairs visible from a street or within a front or side yard are being performed on a lot on

repairs on both vehicles shall be completed within seventy-two (72) hours from the time that such

SUBJECT: ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT A-94-3

Amend Section 29.40.038, subsection (e) to read:
(e) Vehicle repairs shall not be performed anywhere on a lot on more than two ij ) vehicles
a vehicle not owned or registered to an occupant of the lot on which the repairs are occurring mere
than twice, and for ^ o than ont., two (7a) hour. c ch timo during any calendar year.
Add a new last sentence to Section 29.40.038, subsection (g) to read:
For purposes of this section, "garage" means a structure that is enclosed on at least three (3) of its
four (4) sides.
Staff believes that these 3 changes will strengthen, clarify, and simplify the ordinance.
