Adopt ordinance that was introduced at the Council meeting of September 2, 2002. 2. Instruct the Clerk to either: (a) publish the ordinance within 15 days after adoption, or (b) publish a summary no more than 15 days after adoption (if summary published before adoption). ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS AMENDING THE 1997 UNIFORM BUILDING CODE (CHAPTER 6, BUILDINGS AND BUILDING REGULATIONS) TO INCORPORATE THE 2001 STATE OF CALIFORNIA AMENDMENTS SECTION I Section 6.30.010 is amended to read as follows: Section 6.30.010. Adopted. The Uniform Building Code,1997 Edition, as amended in 2001 by the State of California in the State Building Standard Regulations (Title 24), with Appendix Chapters 3, Division II; 15; 18; 31, Division II; 31, Division III; 33; 34, Division III with modifications provided in sections 6.30.015 through 6.30.050 of this article and with Uniform Building Code Standards 1997 Edition, is adopted by reference. SECTION II Section 6.30.015 is deleted in its entirety. SECTION III Section 6.30.030, 6.30.035 and 6.30.040 are deleted in their entirety. SECTION IV Section 6.30.055 is deleted in its entirety. SECTION V Section 6.40.010 is amended to read as follows: Section 6.40.010. Adopted. The Uniform Housing Code, 1997 Edition, as amended in 2001 by the State of California in the State Housing Law Regulations with omissions and modifications provided in Section 6.40.015 and 6.40.020 of this article is adopted by reference. Section 1104.2 of the Uniform Housing Code providing that a failure to comply with an order as described in that section is punishable as a misdemeanor is expressly adopted, and the punishment shall be as prescribed for a misdemeanor under Town Code Section 1.10.040. SECTION VI Section 6.40.015 is amended to read as follows: Section 6.40.015. Amendments —Section rescinded. The following sections of the 1997 Uniform Housing Code are not adopted: 101, 102, 103, 104, 201, 202, 203, 204, 301, 302 and 303. 1 SECTION VII Section 6.50.010 is amended to read as follows: Section 6.50.010. Adopted. The Uniform Plumbing Code 1997 Edition, as amended in 2001 by the State of California in the State Building Standard Regulations (Title 24), with Appendix Chapters A, B, D, E, H, and I is adopted by reference. SECTION VIII Section 6.50.015 is mandated to read as follows: Section 6.50.015. Installation standards adopted. The IAMPO Installation Standards, as set out in the 1997 Uniform Plumbing Code, are adopted by reference. SECTION IX Section 6.60.030. Adopted. The National Electric Code 1999 Edition as amended in 2001 by the State of California in the State Building Standard Regulations (Title 24) is adopted by reference. SECTION X Section 6.80.010 is amended to read as follows: Section 6.80.010. Adopted. The Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Building, 1997 Edition, is adopted by reference. Section 701.1 of the Uniform Code of the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings providing that a failure to comply with an order as described in that section is punishable as a misdemeanor is expressly adopted, and the punishment shall be a prescribed for a misdemeanor under Town Code Section 1.10.040. The Uniform Mechanical Code, 1997 Edition, as adopted by the International Conference of Building Officials and amended in 2001 by the State of California in the State Building Standard Regulations (Title 24), with Appendix Chapters A, B, and C, is adopted by reference. SECTION XII Section 6.100.010 is amended to read as follows: Section 6.100.010. Adopted. The Uniform Code for Building Conversation, 1997 Edition, as amended in 2001 by the State of California in the State Building Standard Regulations (Title 24), including appendices, is hereby adopted. 2 SECTION XIII Section 6.100.020 is amended to read as follows: Section 6.100.020. Reconstruction of unreinforced chimneys. Unreinforced chimneys shall be reconstructed in accordance with the seismic safety standards set forth in Chapter 37 of the currently adopted edition of the Uniform Building Code and be done to the satisfaction of the Building Official. SECTION XIV This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos on , 2002 and adopted by the following vote as an ordinance of the Town of Los Gatos at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos on This ordinance takes effect 30 days after it is adopted. LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES/TOWN POSITIONS FOR 2002 RESOLUTIONS (08.28) Motion by Mr. Glickman, seconded by Mrs. Decker, that Council approve recommended Town positions for ten (10) resolutions to be considered at the League of California Cities (LOCC) Annual Conference on October 2-5, 2002. FINAL MAP/TRACT 9428/LOS GATOS BOULEVARD 14880/RESOLUTION 2002-148 (10.25) Motion by Mr. Glickman, seconded by Mrs. Decker, that Council adopt resolution 2002-148 entitled RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS APPROVING THE FINAL MAP OF TRACT 9428, ACCEPTING THE DEDICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO SIGN THE CONTRACT FOR PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS. Carried unanimously. UNIFORM BUILDING CODE 1997/CALIFORNIA AMENDMENTS 2001/ORDINANCE 2104 (13.38) Motion by Mr. Glickman, seconded by Mrs. Decker, that Council adopt Ordinance 2104 entitled ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS AMENDING THE 1997 UNIFORM BUILDING CODE (CHAPTER 6, BUILDINGS AND BUILDING REGULATIONS) TO INCORPORATE THE 2001 STATE OF CALIFORNIA AMENDMENTS. Carried unanimously. DOWNTOWN PARKING SIGNS/PROJECT 2015/RESOLUTIONS 2002-149 & 2002-26RD (14.24) Motion by Mr. Glickman, seconded by Mrs. Decker, that Council/Agency adopt resolution 2002- 151 & 2002-26RD entitled RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL/REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO CHRISP COMPANY FOR PROJECT 2015 - DOWNTOWN PARKING SIGN PROJECT (OLIVE ZONE 1). Carried unanimously. VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS (00.28) Walk to School Day: Marc Jensen spoke of upcoming event for promoting walking and biking safety on the way to school. General Comment: Ray Davis spoke of his walking stick and how he attends to it in the council chambers and noted the concerns that others have attached to it; he addressed bulldozing and grading in the hillsides; and questioned the skateboard park proposal for Blossom Hill Park.
