RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS TO ADOPT THE
UPDATED EMERGENCY OPERATION PLAN
WHEREAS, the preservation of life and property is an inherent responsibility of local,
state, and federal government; and
WHEREAS, while no plan can prevent death and destruction,good plans carried out by
knowledgeable and well-trained personnel can and will minimize losses; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos has prepared an updated Emergency Operations Plan
(EOP)to support effective and efficient allocation of resources for the protection of the
community during times of emergency; and
WHEREAS, this plan establishes the emergency organization, assigns tasks, specifies
policies and general procedures, and coordinates planning efforts of emergency staff and
service elements utilizing the Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) and the
National Incident Management System (NIMS); and
WHEREAS, this Emergency Operations Plan is an extension of the California Emergency
Plan and will be reviewed and exercised periodically and revised as necessary to meet changing
conditions.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos
hereby adopts the updated Emergency Operations Plan (September 2025) as the directive for
establishing and operating the Town's emergency management organization.
Section 2.The Town Clerk and Town Mayor shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los
Gatos, California, held on the 16th day of September, 2025, by the following vote:
