TOWN MANAGER
AUTHORIZE DONATION OF USED COMPUTER EQUIPMENT
MEETING DATE: 7/6/98
ITEM NO. 7
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize donation of used computer equipment.
BACKGROUND:
The Town policy is to auction used equipment which is no longer needed. The Town maintains a contract with a
company that performs public auctions on an on -going basis. Since April 1995, the Town has donated its used personal

approved plans to donate used police computers to the Los Gatos -Saratoga High School NOVA program and other non-
profit organizations within the Town. The Police Department has received requests from four non-profit organizations
which specifically provide services to the citizens of Los Gatos.
DISCUSSION:
There are several non-profit organizations within the Town which coordinate their efforts with the Police Department
to improving public safety services in the community. The Department is replacing many of its outdated personal
